FIRST IMPRESSION/REVIEW : Bellápierre Cosmetics BB Cream

FIRST IMPRESSION/REVIEW : Bellápierre Cosmetics BB Cream

Happy Friday everyone!

Today I’m reviewing a product I’m so excited for, Bellápierre Cosmetics BB Cream. I purchased this for €35.00 from Biofresh Skincare, which you can do by clicking HERE, alternatively you can drop into either of their stores or purchase over the phone. Biofresh are the Irish distributors of the Bellápierre range, which are a US brand.

So what makes Bellápierre special you say? Well this makeup range offers products that are full of natural ingredients that not only cover imperfections but also help to heal the skin without causing the pores to become clogged which leads to more breakouts.

Beauty Balm (BB) is a combination of advanced skincare and full skin coverage.

It combines 4 products in 1 – concealer, foundation, SPF 15, moisturiser –

Oil free formula. Made with minerals, naturally covers imperfections. Controls oils and shine.

As you may know I’ve been struggling with my skin for quite some time, I made the move to using the probiotic skincare range from Biofresh along side their acne out lotion, which I noticed a big improvement but unfortunately I soon realised that using my normal much loved makeup was just keeping my problem alive.

So this BB cream comes in five shades – fair, light, medium, dark, deep – I’ve purchased in light for when I’m not fake tanned. My first impression from the packaging was that it was nicely packaged in a handy black squeeze tube, making it easy to dispense product. I also love that you get 40ml of product whereas normally with foundations you’d only get 30/35ml.

                       Application

After cleansing my face and priming using the Couleur Caramel Mattifying primer I went ahead and started to dab the BB cream on my face. I was quite surprised at how thick it was, I started to blend it out with my flat top makeup brush which was so easy, it blended out effortlessly and seemed to melt onto my skin. I did have to build up the coverage on my cheeks were I have the most breakouts. The colour matched me fairly well, I will probably get the lighter shade and try it next to see if it’s a perfect match. I set my face using the Bellápierre mineral foundation. My skin wasn’t flawless, a lot of my breakouts were showing a little bit more than I’d like but I guess using extra concealer would help cover them up.

Before & After

                       Impression

I applied this BB cream at 2pm and wore it until 11.30pm. Firstly it applied like a dream, I literally had it applied in a few minutes whereas other normal foundations would take me longer to blend out. Super easy! It looks so natural on the skin, almost like my skin but better. My skin had an all over natural glow plus I didn’t even feel like I was wearing anything on my skin. The BB cream lasted really well too, it only faded around my mouth from eating and drinking. I did have to repowder my tzone twice as the day went on but that’s nothing abnormal for me. Overall I LOVE this product, the fact that it not only looks amazing on the skin but is good for the skin. The only thing I was slightly disappointed with was that I thought it would be more full coverage considering it says its ideal for acne or troublesome skin. However I still give it a 4/5, just purchase a concealer with it for extra coverage! Definitely going to be a big hit with me over the summer!

REVIEW/FIRST IMPRESSION : Couleur Caramel Hydracoton Foundation

REVIEW/FIRST IMPRESSION : Couleur Caramel Hydracoton Foundation

Hi guys, today I’m reviewing an organic/natural foundation for you all, this one comes from the Couleur Caramel range, it’s their Hydracoton Foundation. I got two samples of this foundation to try out from Dun Laoghaire Pharmacy in Dublin/ online HERE or you can purchase online from CouleurCaramel.ie, it retails for around €34.00. Couleur Caramel are a natural, organic makeup brand that are now available in Ireland.

Couleur Caramel Organic Hydracoton Foundation, with its powder finish, offers unbelievable comfort and long-lasting hold. Its lightweight texture transforms upon application to smooth the skin’s texture and deliver a velvety powder finish.

So I received two shades, No.11 (lightest shade) No.12 ( second lightest shade). To start the fragrance of the products reminded me of card broad, I’m not into heavily scented cosmetic products so this really didn’t bother me and once applied I couldn’t smell the product at all. So I primed my face using the Velvet Smoothing Mattifying Primer also from Couleur Caramel, I also went in with a little concealer on any major breakouts to help cover them up. I used an angled foundation brush to begin applying the foundation, which turned out awful – the product wouldn’t stick to some parts of my face and was quite patchy in parts – I also noticed that the shade I used, No.11 had oxidised on my face, turning from a perfect pale colour match to a shade darker with ALOT of red undertones to it. I had to removed all the product and go again, this time using the No.12 shade and my Miracle Complexion Sponge from Real Techniques. It definitely applied much better and a lot less patchy, but some areas still looked bad. The coverage is definitely  light/medium as I struggled to hide my blemishes, no matter how much I tried to build up. However areas where my skin had no blemishes it looked quite pretty almost like my skin but better.

Main Active Ingredients

Cottonseed oil (Gossypium herbaceum): softens and restore tone.

Organic Shea Butter (Butyrospermum parkii): moisterise, revitalise and regenerate the skin.

Organic Camelina oil (Camelina Sativa): softerns and nourishes, recommended for very dry skin.

Organic Sesame oil (Sesamum Indicum): softens, protect and regenerate the skin.

I applied this foundation at 2pm and wore it til 12pm that night. I didn’t need to re powder my face, as I’ve an oily t-zone that was a surprise. It did fade a lot around my mouth from eating and drinking and on the sides of my face. I think that I would like this foundation when my blemishes all clear up *im working on it* especially during the summer as a kind of BB cream. It’s definitely not the type of foundation I’d wear until my skin clears as the coverage is very light.

Before & After

I’d give this a 2.5 out of 5. Have you tried this foundation out, what’s your thoughts on it? Share your favourite natural/organic foundations below.

REVIEW : Caught Short

REVIEW : Caught Short

Hi guys, today I’m reviewing some products that were sent to me by a UK site called Caught Short. This company offers organic natural sanitary products, along with loads of other really clever items, such as panties on the go and fab little bag, which are little bags that you can put your used tampons or sanitary towels in – perfect for young girls starting out! Visit their site HERE

So as you can see I received two pairs of the panties on the go which are basically spare knickers. These are 95% cotton and 5% elastane pants that come in a handy reusable plastic pocket, meaning they can be easily stored at your office, school locker etc. Having a reusable plastic pocket means that should you get a surprise from Mother Nature and need a change you can easily put your used underwear in the plastic pocket. The pants are also washable so they may be used as many times as you like. I received two pairs of the size medium, which fitted me perfectly. The underwear was so much more comfortable than I thought it would be and I felt everything was secured in place.

I also received a sample of some Natracare products. In the sample box was two tampons, one large and one smaller, a liner and a one ultra pad, along with a leaflet containing some information about organic sanitary products and why we should use them. I tried both the liner and the ultra pad out and I honestly am converted! They are so much smoother than anything I’ve ever used, I literally didn’t feel like I was wearing anything at all. Which any girl can appreciate one less painful complaint at that time of the month! The tampons I don’t use so I passed them to my friend who was more than happy to try them and get back to me and I’m pleased to report she loved them.

As you may know I am currently on a mission to turn as many products as possible I use to natural organic ones, I never would of thought about converting to organic sanitary towels until now. I read through the leaflet and was surprised to find out that using normal pads and towels can actually cause repeated bouts of thrush and allergic reactions in some women (AFI) – such as itching, soreness, discharge – which makes so much sense as women who suffer with thrush are encouraged to switch to cotton underwear.

I honestly can’t thank Caught Short for sending these out to me enough, even my sister is converting! I would 100% recommend you checking these guys out and even getting a sample  for yourself! I hope my review was helpful and maybe you learned something like me. Have you tried these out already? Share your experience in the comments.

FIRST IMPRESSION/REVIEW : Essence Camouflage 2in1 Makeup & concealer

FIRST IMPRESSION/REVIEW : Essence Camouflage 2in1 Makeup & concealer

Welcome back.

So today I’m reviewing the newest product to the Essence range, it’s their Camouflage 2in1 Makeup & Concealer Foundation. This foundation promises to provide a long lasting high coverage matte finish to the skin with no mask effect. The foundation comes in a handy 30ml squeeze tube for easy application. I picked up this foundation from my local pharmacy, McNallys for €4.80* but it can also be bought in most other pharmacies and Penneys stores nationwide.
So I started as I always do by priming my face with the Catrice Pore Refining Primer. On the back of this tube it suggests to apply the foundation with a makeup sponge, so I’m using my Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge to see how it goes. So first off the consistency is thick but creamy. It blended out perfectly into my skin and the colour matched my pale complexion perfectly, I got this in the shade 10 ivory beige. I was a little disappointed that I had to use so much product however to get a good coverage, some of my bigger breakouts were still visible but in fairness they’re practically the size of my head. The rest of my makeup blended really well on top on the foundation.
So I had applied this foundation at 11am and wore it until 11pm that night. I was really surprised at how well this foundation lasted over the 12 hours. It had settled into my frown line between my brows, melted off my nose a little were I had been rubbing it, it did slightly cling to dry areas and spots and my oil had come threw but like for 12 hours I am impressed! I didn’t touch up my powder at all during the day so a little touch up of powder and concealer and I would of been fit to keep going! For such a good price this little foundation is incredible. Granted it didn’t look as good as some of my more expensive ones but it would be perfect for everyday wear. As I struggle to find a foundation that matches my paper coloured skin *yes I’m giving tanning a wee break* properly I have to stay I’m amazed such a cheap brand has a foundation this light.
Before / Just After / Makeup Finished

I would definitely give this foundation a 4/5, taking marks off for the fact I was expecting the coverage to be a tad bit better. All in all this is a great beauty bargain, definitely go out and get it!
Let me know if you’ve tried it and what your thoughts on it are! Also please follow my blog to keep up to date with my posts and if that’s not enough you can get me on Twitter, here

REVIEW : bBold Smart Mousse

REVIEW : bBold Smart Mousse

Hi guys! So today I’m talking about the newest tanning product from bBold, which is the Smart Mousse. This tan is non toxic, paraben free and full of Kahai oil and Aloe Vera which helps tone and moisturise the skin while providing a streak free tan, while also using 100% natural DHA. This tan was one I couldn’t wait to try as you Apply, Shower, and let it Develop. Yes, I kid you not, long gone are the days of hopping into bed feeling smelly and sticky while destroying everything you come into contact with! (Boyfriends Rechoice)

So after my usual fake tan prep routine had been done the night before, I began applying this tan using the bBold mitt. The mitt is pretty standard but works well, I will admit I prefer using a double sided mitt as it protects both sides of the hand. On application, there isn’t a fake tan typical smell of the product, and it has a colour guide to ensure a streak free application. The tan glided on so easily and looked incredible.
Depending on how dark you like your tan to be you just have to wait, 1hour for a softly kissed tan, 2hours for a golden glow and 3hours to be beautifully bronzed. I waited 3 hours, during this time my tan had developed a typical fake tan smell and took about 30 minutes to dry. I then rinsed off in the shower, patted myself dry and headed to bed.
The following morning I woke feeling fresh and had a gorgeous colour, my skin was so soft and no fake tan smell or stained sheets! I will admit I was hoping the colour of my tan would be a shade darker, but I have to say it was the nicest colour I think I’ve ever gotten from a fake tan, very natural and flawless! All my foundations matched so well to the tan as well which is always a plus. I don’t want to talk to soon, but I think this might just be my favourite ever fake tan.
Before / After

This tan retails for €14.95 and is available in most pharmacies nationwide and online by following the link here . Hope you enjoyed my review, leave your thoughts on this tan below and any questions you may have, I’d love to hear from you.

REVIEW : Rimmel Sunshimmer Self Tanning Mousse

REVIEW : Rimmel Sunshimmer Self Tanning Mousse

Hi guys! So today I’m reviewing the Rimmel Sunshimmer Self Tanning Mousse, which you may know if you follow me on my Twitter @blushingblonde_. The reason I purchased this tan is because it is loved by Xposes’ Glenda Gilson, and let’s face it her tan always looks on point. I purchased this from my nearest Penneys store for just €6.50* and in the dark shade. As far as I know it is available in a light and medium too.

So after preparing my body the night before as I always do, I began to apply this mousse tan starting with my legs, the first thing I noticed is the scent of this tan, even though it is marketed as an unscented tan, it actually smelt quite nice. It reminded me of the Impulse Musk bodyspray my mother used religiously for years. However as all fake tans, I did wake up the following morning stinking of fake tan!
The tan applied really easily and looked pretty flawless everywhere. It takes this tan about 20-30 minutes to fully dry which isn’t as long as some tans but also not the quickest. The following morning I had a gorgeous dark colour that was so seamless buuut stained smelly sheets, yuck!! Of course I lost quite a bit of that colour once I hit the shower, which is a bit of a pain. The colour I had been left with was still beautiful but I felt, for me anyway, that it wasn’t really a ‘dark’ tan, so I’m glad I didn’t opt for the medium shade. However as cheaper tans go this is a pretty good one.
Before / After

I hope you enjoyed my review on this tan and that it answered some questions you may of had, my advice is to definitely try it. I’ll come back in a few days and leave an update in the comment section on how it wore so if you’ve any questions in the mean time please leave them down below for me. Don’t forget if you liked this review or found it helpful to give my blog a follow! I’d really appreciate it.
